Microsoft Network Operating System Essay

Windows server 2008 comes in different versions for the different users, not all users need all the same features. The versions are web edition, standard edition, enterprise edition, and datacenter edition. The significance of them are WE 1 OS Is permitted, 32-bit 4GB 64-bit 32GB, maximum number of CPUs 4. SE hyper-V included, plus 1 virtual instance, terminal server ,network access protection, and CALs. EE plus 4 virtual instance, 32-bit 32GB 64-bit 2TB, CPUs 8, cluster service yes 16 nodes per cluster. DE unlimited number of OS, CPUs 64, hot swap ram and cpus yes. Some of the new features or enhancements are the server manager, installation options, active directory, dns server role. Windows server 2008 differs from server 2003 with its new features like RODC, WDS,32and 64bit,and group policy editor. Some of the advantages of 64-bit architecture is more process address space, easily memory-mapped files over 4GB, and programs such as encoders, decoders, and encryption software benefit from 64-bit. Some of the new features of server 2008 are server core, PowerShell, and virtualization. Server core is a minimal installation option provides an environment for running the server roles. Some of the roles are DHCP server, DNS server, file services, and print server. The three ways you can benefit from the installation are by reducing the software maintenance required, reducing the management required, and reducing the attack surface. Virtualization provides software infrastructure and basic management tools that you can use to create and manage a virtualized server computing environment. This can help by Reduce the costs of operating and maintaining physical servers by increasing your hardware utilization, and Improve server availability without using as many physical computers. And PowerShell is Microsoft’s task automation framework, consists of command-line, and scripting language. It provides access to COM and WMI. Read-only domain controller is a new type of that organization can easily deploy a domain in locations where physical security cannot be guaranteed. RODC will improve security, faster logon time, and a more efficient access to resources on the network.

Physiology research paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Physiology - Research Paper Example The researchers selected 128 children of patients with autosomal-dominant Alzheimer’s disease as study participants, as they were at risk of carrying the mutation. The autosomal-dominant nature of the disease in these cases was determined by family pedigrees. The mutations known in these pedigrees included presenilin 1, presenilin 2, and amyloid precursor protein. The expected age of symptom onset for the participants was set as the age at which the parent was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. They studied several physiologic mechanisms occurring in these patients. First, they carried out clinical assessments of cognitive change using questionnaire-based scales, giving them a cognition score. This characterized the participants as normal cognitive function, very mild impairment, or mild impairment. Brain imaging with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was done to screen for any pre-existing brain disease. Positron emission tomography (PET) scanning was done to determine any regions of fibrillar amyloid deposition, and decreased metabolism. They also analyzed cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for concentrations of tau, and beta-amyloid. They found that 50% of the asymptomatic study participants were carriers of the mutation for Alzheimer’s. The carriers had lower cognitive scores and at an earlier age, compared to non-carriers of the mutation. The carriers also developed bilateral hippocampal atrophy, seen on MRI, 15 years before expected symptom onset. Through PE scanning, they detected a selective decrease in the metabolism of the precuneus region of the brain in carriers, 10 years before expected symptom onset. Mutation carriers also had significant amyloid deposition in the precuneus region at 15 years before symptom onset, while non-carriers did not have any amyloid deposition there. Levels of CSF tau protein and plasma amyloid were elevated in the carriers 15 years before symptom onset,

Management 4330 Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Management 4330 - Research Paper Example This strengthens my confidence to put the best in my work as well as offering encouragement to improve my skills. I rank among the top as compared to other students who undertook this exercise. Being in the first quartile did not surprise me as I am aware of my positive abilities affecting my work and those around me. My capability of organizing people according to their skills is on the higher side. I know how to assign roles to different people according to how well they can perform them. Identifying the areas they are competent in as well as their strengths and weaknesses. This is among my strong points that make a competent manager. Secondly, is that I am able to generate multiple solutions for solving a problem rather than depending on just one way of tackling a problem. I take time to go through the best solutions for a problem after studying it rather than just offering one temporary solutions that will only be short term. However, the above data shows areas that I need to improve on. I take this positively as this is a way of improving myself in how I work and relate with other people. I use too many positive comments even where negative comments are of essence. This is can be an encouragement for some people might to take advantage of the situation and present substandard work because they know they will not get negative comments (Lussier 60). I should tell it like it is and give negative comments where necessary. This will make people work hard and present quality work as nobody wants to look like a failure in his or her job. Another area I need to improve on according to this survey is encouraging people to develop their strengths rather than just overcoming weaknesses. This way people will be independent in the decisions they make, and also improve on the quality of their skills. Compared to other associates, my skills of good

Discuss the relations between cultural claims, power and universal Essay

Discuss the relations between cultural claims, power and universal human rights - Essay Example To begin with, let us consider the controversy surrounding the design of the Australian flag. This case is representative of the ideological and power struggles that is rampant everywhere else in the world. The Australian flag evokes starkly different emotions from different sections of its populace. For the indigenous community, it denotes a selective and exclusivist interpretation of Australian history, which completely neglects pre-colonial heritage. For the majority of the European settlers, the blatant human rights violations perpetrated against innocent hordes of indigenous tribes do not evoke sympathy as much as colonial supremacy. This dual viewpoints of history is typical in the post-colonial societies elsewhere, with a marked shift between the sentiments of the ruling elite and the subaltern masses. As the authors point out, â€Å"These debates about the meaning of flags raise issues that point to the very foundations of international politics. States claim that they embody the identities of the peoples living within their territorial boundaries. These identities are a powerful force, even if they are sometimes contrived or imagined. The principle of state sovereignty is often upheld not just as a fundamental political and legal tool but also as the means of protecting the culture or cultures operating within the state’s boundaries†. (Brown, Bromley & Athreye, p.200) Over the course of the last century, states have claimed legitimacy to their causes using the language of rights. The hope lies therein for minorities and underprivileged within states to also employ the language of rights to claim their legitimate share of opportunity, prosperity and privilege. While traditionally, notions of cultural identity held sway over other abstract categorizations, the world of neo-liberal economic globalization has given precedence to universal human rights and justice. So, the

Michelangelo and Bernini Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Michelangelo and Bernini - Essay Example Before one can fully appreciate Michelangelo’s contribution to the Baroque style, more must be known about Michelangelo’s particular style as an architect. Michelangelo (1475-1564) is perhaps most famous for his frescoes painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. He is also well-known as a sculptor, having created numerous famous pieces such as David and the Pieta. However, he was also an accomplished architect. Having won fame and admiring support from the Pope to many other leaders of Renaissance Italy through his painting and sculptural talents, Michelangelo turned architect in his later years, smoothly incorporating his sculptural ideas of communicating through the stone with his natural ideas concerning his paintings to create unique works of art in things as utilitarian as a set of stairs for the Laurentian Library. While impressive and highly decorative, modern interpretations of this staircase criticize it for its massive use of space and for the nearly unusa ble aspects of the two outer lower stairways. However, Michelangelo’s architectural work demonstrates that he wasn’t as firmly entrenched in the Classical ideals of his time as his contemporaries. â€Å"Michelangelo generated sculptural detailing that marked the beginning of the Baroque and the end of purely classical architecture. Michelangelo emphasized visual effect over the structural logic of a design. He always subordinated invention to the needs of overall composition†.The way he accomplished this occurred.

Sandwich report Lab Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Sandwich - Lab Report Example Among the foods that have been prepared to become ready to eat include meats, sushi, cheese, cereals, salads and other produce, dry goods including candies and biscuits, and meals that are ready to eat. On the other hand, salads and sandwiches are common ready to eat food that, due to their capacity for contamination, have been associated with strict guidelines for their preparation. Those guidelines conform to regulations that have been put in place in places like New York, and cover such things as changing/replacing gloves, prohibitions against the use of bare hands during the preparation process, and the kinds of food that are considered for inclusion in government codes of sanitation relating to the preparation of such ready to eat fare. It is worth noting that government codes have prescriptions for the degree to which food are to be heated in order to be considered safe for consumption. Since ready to eat food is generally not heated to meet those minimum temperature of reheati ng standards, they are subject to more rigorous regulations in terms of handling to prevent ready to eat food being contaminated with pathogens that can cause illness on wide scale. Food handling in preparation and in transport are by far the biggest sources of contamination when it comes to ready to eat food (Colorado Farm to Market, 2013; NY State Department of Health, 2005; Schaub, 2010; UK Government, 2008). Enterobacteriaceae are a group of pathogens that are used as indicators for when food has not been cooked adequately, or else when food has been subject to contamination after the food had been processed. E.coli, on the other hand, is a pathogen that when present indicates poor hygiene, lack of sanitation, and heat that has not been adequate to kill off the bacteria during the processing of food. Other pathogens include coagulase-positive staphylococci, c. perfingens, b. cereus, v. parahaemolyticus, campylobacter spp, salmonella spp, and L. monocytogenes (NSW Food Authority, 2009; ACT Health, 2002). These same pathogens seem to cross geographic boundaries, and share in common many of the pathogens that are found in ready to eat fare in other nations, such as Hong Kong, where ready to eat food is screened for a similar set of pathogens, including b. cereus, c. perfingens, campylobacter spp, e. coli, v. cholera, salmonella, and L. monocytogenes (Centre for Food Safety, 2007). The Canadian authorities include shigella, v. cholerae, y. enterocolitica, c. parvum, giardia lamblia, hepatitis, and scombroid poisoning to the list of pathogens above, with the most common symptoms and effects of contamination and infection in people being vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, wound infection, and gas gangrene (Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives, n.d.). In the US, meanwhile, there is an intense focus on salmonella, e coli and listeria monocytogenes as the pathogens that most commonly infect ready to eat food, including produce. The lines of defense arrayed aga inst such pathogens in food include thermally killing the pathogens, making use of the so-called bacteriophage treatment, and the use of so-called antimicrobial GRAS agents (Food Safety Research Information Office, 2010). It is worth noting that in some of the bacteriological guidelines that were considered for this paper, emphasis is given on rating the quality of the food as

Unemployment and its Effect on Consumer Spending Term Paper

Unemployment and its Effect on Consumer Spending - Term Paper Example Unemployment and its effect on Consumer Spending Unemployment has been a major issue that has been prevailing in every country’s economy since the global economic recession hit the world during the year 2007.This is calculated by the dividing the total number of unemployed population with that of the employed ones in the country. Unemployment within a country can bring upon many different negative issues within an economy and this could further deteriorate the country’s performance. Consumer spending is an issue that is considered to have an inverse relationship with unemployment. This relation can be graphically presented as follows: Consumer spending is the total aggregate demand of goods and services within an economy. Consumer spending, in simpler terms, can be referred to as the expenditure made by an individual. Consumer spending usually gets affected by different factors prevailing within an economy. There are many different factors that can vary the level of consumer spending. Unemployment has brought upon sev ere effects on consumer spending within the entire world. An increase in the level of unemployment was seen when the recession hit within the 2007, although this recession is considered to be the second recession within the same decade i.e. 2000 – 2010, it had severe negative effects. The reason that the 1st recession was less damaging was because during that period i.e. 2001-2002, people carried out their respective expenditure trends because they availed the mortgage facility. On the other hand, consumer spending was severely affected during the second recession period i.e. 2007.... Although the Bureau of Labor Statistics within the United States showed a reduction in the unemployment rate i.e. a fall of 0.4%, people still find it really difficult to find jobs within the country. According to many different commentators, the figures provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics do not prove to be closer to reality. According to these commentators, an average unemployed worker approximately needs 33 weeks to find a job for himself. Such fall back and deteriorating facts contrast the figures provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and it is for this reason that many commentators have considered it to be bias (Jacob, 2011). The recent unemployment rate within the United States can be graphically shown as below (WSJ, 2012) This increase in the rate of unemployment has led to a reduction in the consumer spending level within the United States. Unemployment and consumer spending have contrasting issues i.e. they are inversely proportional. An increase in the level of unemployment would definitely reduce the level of consumer spending within an economy. Consumer spending is a necessary element that is required to stimulate an economy and it is for this reason, many governments try to put in proper monetary and fiscal policies that may increase consumer spending in order to reduce inflation and maintain other economic factors within a country. The United States consumer spending level has not been pleasing during the past few years. According to the US Commerce Department, the consumer spending has risen by just a minute 0.1%. This increase has been considered to be really low as opposed to the predictions made by the US Commerce department. The United States
